Sooper-Dooper Stain Remover!!

Ok- so I know I am always ranting and raving about 'All Natural' 'Homemade' 'Organic' 'Healthy' and what have you....but every now and again I stumble across something that is NOT totally natural...but it works miraculously so I have to share it.  At least until I come up with the All Natural Alternative to it. :)

So here's the deal.... a week ago my 20 month old decided she wanted to wear some makeup.  She managed to find an old bag of makeup I no longer wear and decided to try lots of it on....

She was COVERED.  It was all over her pants and sweatshirt, her face and hair.  Notice the attempts at the eyeliner?  I guess she tried really well, and basically knew what she was attempting to achieve...but it didn't turn out so well for either of us.

Anyways, I quickly removed her soiled clothing and threw them in the hamper to be forgotten about for a week.  On Sunday I did a load of laundry for her and when it was all done and I went to fold it, I remembered the foundation covered clothing.  They were pretty terribly stained.  I know that many of my daughters clothes wind up with juice stains or various other stains, but this was the worst I had seen..

I was pretty bummed that I had forgotten about the makeup so I did not pre-treat it and then I was even more bummed that the wash did not remove the stains.  I was thinking I was probably stuck and the pants might as well be thrown away....but just for the heck of it I decided to look up some homemade stain removers.  The one I found was so simple--and though not 100% natural, I decided to give it a try.

The Recipe:  1 part Original Dawn Dish Soap (the plain old blue stuff)  vs 2 parts Hydrogen Peroxide. Mix it together and pour it onto the stain.

Let it set for a while...the longer you let it set, the better I am sure it will work...but I'm pretty impatient when it comes to waiting for things like this, so I only waited a few minutes. I took a white rag and began rubbing small circles around the stains.  When I was done, the clothing was pretty soapy so it was hard to see if anything actually worked.  So, I at first assumed like many other things--that it was a farce.  So I went to the sink, rinsed the pants out and hung them up to dry for a while.  I forgot all about them (seems to be a common occurrence in my life)  until this morning.  I picked them up, they were still a little damp, but mostly dry...and this is what I had...............................

A MIRACLE!!!

They are not absolutely perfect...there is a small spot on the left (pictured right) knee...but that is where I had started running out of solution and did not spend much time scrubbing...
But other than that, all of the foundation stains came out!!

I cannot believe it!! This will be my favorite go to stain remover (at least until I find a recipe for a totally natural one that works as well).  I cannot believe that it removed an oily set in stain that was forgotten for a week and then run through the laundry and still hadn't budged.

Super easy recipe, that really WORKS! Give it a try!

Kicking MS in the Face!!

Super old picture-didn't have much on my laptop, but it does the trick!       So I still have absolutely no use of my right hand but I'm going to attempt an update.   After the MRI I expected to have to wait until Tuesday for the results. Thursday AM my mother called and said she was flying in. While I was really trying to deal with this without help, it was starting to take its toll. I was feeling progressively worse and it was getting harder to do anything at all. My left arm had been getting numb and my right just keeps getting worse. We picked her up Thursday afternoon. Shortly after we got home the neurologists office called and said my results were back and my doctor didn't want me to wait until Tuesday so he asked another doctor to squeeze me in. My appointment was for Friday at 12:45. I arrived with my own personal support army: My hubby, daughter, mother, and amazing friends Cheryl and Renee. I was nervous though certain I knew the findings.  Once ...

Multiple Sclerosis: Defined

Mommy & Abigail  What exactly is Multiple Sclerosis? I've had many people telling me that they are glad I am all better and other people telling me that they are sure I will beat this. While I appreciate all of these warm wishes, I want to be sure that everyone understands how serious this really is. I've had a few customers that have acted as though I had a case of the flu and was now on the mend, and one even told me not to bother with the medicine the doctor prescribed but to just drink sugar water with lemon because that will fix me.  MS is not something that you can overcome or beat. It isnt going anywhere. Like other diseases such as cancer, my MS could go into remission and there could be months or maybe even years where I remain relatively symptom free, but this crazy thing will always be lurking. I myself am still trying to come to terms with that overwhelming information. It is not just a temporary hiccup, but a lifestyle changer. I will not let it define me, ...

With the good comes the bad...

My hubby & favorite bald Beauty!   Today started off a good day! I've been "training" my hand to start working again and I have managed to make it so that I could pull my hair in a halfway decent ponytail, something I previously couldn't come close to doing. I got Abigail dressed with a little less trouble and have even been able to type a little better using both hands.     First thing I called the Neurologist fully expecting to be told they wouldn't see me or that they couldn't see me for 3 weeks and I would have to pay $300 up front. After filling the receptionist in on what was going on and giving her my info, she told me she had an opening tomorrow @ 2:15! I was ecstatic. I told the nurse that she had just made me so happy! (Who would have thought going to a neurologist could make someone excited.) She did tell me I had to pay $141, but since I was prepared for hundreds, $141 was not so bad.  Shortly after my mother inf...
